Arthur M. Blank Hospital RTLS Case Study
Groundbreaking $2Bn pediatric hospital deploys InView to enhance care delivery.
About Arthur M. Blank Hospital
The Arthur M. Blank Hospital (AMBH) is the largest healthcare project in Georgia’s history. This $2 billion pediatric facility spans 19 stories, 2 million square feet and includes 446 beds. The emergency department alone covers 70,000 square feet.
Designed as one of the most advanced children’s hospitals in the world, AMBH integrates robotics, real-time data and connected technologies to transform care delivery.
Innovating With Advanced Technologies
Robotics Integration
The hospital is deploying the world’s largest fleet of autonomous robots. One-third are patient-facing, delivering meals and medications. Others will handle heavy back-hall tasks such as linen and trash transport, powered by advanced algorithms and vision systems.
Device and AI Integration
AMBH integrates multiple devices to provide real-time physiological data that supports predictive clinical models. Clinicians can access vital signs and waveforms on mobile devices. Nurse call alarms are optimized through RTLS, reducing unnecessary alerts.
Patient Engagement
Smart patient rooms feature multi-screen systems for education, entertainment and communication. Each room is equipped with RTLS-enabled information displays and cameras that connect patients with caregivers, interpreters or family members.
Asset Management Powered by RTLS
At the heart of the hospital’s digital strategy is HID Healthcare RTLS. InVIEW™, our data analytics software, enables advanced asset management by combining location awareness with clinical workflow applications.
Staff badges support dynamic tracking and room displays show real-time caregiver presence, reducing wasted steps for clinicians. Integration with systems such as nurse call ensures faster responses, more efficient workflows and improved care coordination.
Seamless System Integrations
InVIEW connects with key platforms to streamline processes and enhance safety. Key integrations include:
- Epic EHR: Automates clinician access to records and saves valuable time
- Microsoft Entra ID: Provides secure application access with Single Sign-On
- Get Well 360: Enhances patient engagement through smart room solutions
- Nuvolo CMMS: Improves preventive maintenance workflows with location syncing
- Lynx Systems: Strengthens staff safety through instant duress alerts
- Workday HR: Automates staff updates in human capital management
Together, these integrations support AMBH’s mission to deliver high-quality care more efficiently in a safer, more responsive environment.
A Vision for Better Care
“The new Arthur M. Blank Hospital will be one of the most advanced facilities in the world. My goal is we use technology to help clinicians provide the best care possible through more intelligent systems, save steps through improved communication and technology-supported visual processes, and improve care and experience through improved patient engagement.”
