Making Hand Hygiene Compliance Easy and Affordable
Is near-field magnetic induction (NFMI) technology safe?
Yes! NFMI is FDA-approved for use in implantable human devices such as pacemakers and hearing aids.
How will this affect my LeapFrog Hospital Safety Grade?
Adding HID’s Hand Hygiene solution provides the tools to reduce HAIs and maximize your LeapFrog Hospital Safety Grade.
Does the Hand Hygiene solution cost more than visual observation?
No! In fact, we will work with your hospital to ensure that the cost of our solution is the same or less than your current visual observation cost.
Are all staff members required to wear badges?
We recommend that all patient-facing hospital staff wear badges to replace visual observation and reduce the transmission of Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAI).
Can I wear a sweater, coat or other clothing over my badge?
Yes. Clothing will not interfere with badge functions. However, we recommend that the badge be at chest level.
How does the solution know if I've washed my hands correctly?
Badges communicate with sensors placed in proximity to your existing soap dispensers and sinks. A compliant event is registered when a healthcare worker’s proximity to the sensor exceeds 20 seconds, or whatever standard your facility uses for hand washing.
How will the collected data be used?
The data collected is used to report hand hygiene compliance, as facilities are required to monitor and report hand hygiene compliance statistics amongst staff. In the event of an infection, the data can be used for historical contact tracing.
